SEMINAR DATES

The seminar day times are usually from 10:00 – 16:30, but might start an hour earlier sometimes.
- DAY 1, Mon, 28.4.

First day
- Introduction to the seminar.
- Exercise(s) on tools we brought today.
- Screening of The Signal Line (2024).
- DAY 2, Tue, 13.5.
10:00 – 16:30 Hammer handle (one size fits no body)
On day 2 each student will work one's own hammer handle in wood at the wood workshop. The handle's shape is based on a particular to one's own hammer handle adapted to custom body dimensions and an existing hammer head. Old metal hammer heads and ash wood will be brought to class, each student will choose one head to work with.
- Introduction on a hammer, the drawing and the tools.
- Individual work on one's hammer handle.
- DAY 3, Mon, 26.5.

Group presentation and discussion I
On day 3 each student will present the individual research work on one's chosen tool which we will discuss collectively in class. Each presentation / discussion slot will be ~ 20 min. and will be documented on a dedicated page of this wiki.

No-input sound workshop and
thoughts on presentation format for Rundgang
Day 4 will be split in two parts. In the morning we will choose a location in the school to sit down and have a conversion about a format and object to work on for the final presentation (Rundgang). This should yield in a preparation for constructions to take place on day 5.
In the afternoon Sara Lehad will be at the HfG to give a workshop on No-input music. She will introduce No-input and we will work together on a collaborative sound structure (recording).

Construction
Day 5 is a construction and production day for a format and object(s) to present the tool that each student will leave at school.
• Collaborative work (possibly in groups) at a chosen spot in or outside of school.

Group presentation and discussion II
(last day before Rundgang)
Day 6 will probably have a similar structure as day 3 with each student's tool being presented and discussed in class. This is the last day for feedback before the Rundgang. On this day we should also work on the last details for our collective presentation at the Rundgang.

Last preparations for Rundgang
Please note, having a complete wood workshop introduction is mandatory to be able to use the wood workshop throughout our seminar. For participants who did not complete the wood workshop introduction, you can attend the two-part introduction on the following dates. Please sign-up at the wood workshop for this course.
