- That's a good transformation from the H.A.M.M.E.R. bench to the picnic-esque bench and the detail of the small shelf works well.\\
- The wood itself is very sturdy. 
- But indeed, it might get shaky with more horizontal elements or braces. One option could be to produce the A-shaped legs and the tabletop first (keeping some wood on the side). Then put them together and see how you should place stabilizing beams.\\
- The idea of a detachable bench is good, but i have no precise solution for this with hammer and nails. One thing that comes to mind is the [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bow_saw|bucksaw]] (in German [[https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gestells%C3%A4ge|Gestellsäge]]) which creates a strong frame by using tension. But this might get a bit complicated. \\
- Here is a sketch with horizontal boards attached to the legs. On those, boards could be resting that serve as shelf.
